75What is Tea Tree Oil?
Tea tree oil is an essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a plant native to Australia.
Because of its anti-bacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungicidal properties Tea tree oil is commonly used as a pure essential oil, for treating many ailments. You can also find it as an active ingredient in creams, shampoos, ointments, lotions, soaps, mouthwash, and many other products ready to use everyday.
The most common products containing tea tree oil as an active ingredient are:
Tea tree oil Shampoo
1) Shampoos.
Whether it is for treating dandruff, helping to get rid of head lice or simply to improve the condition of an itchy scalp, tea tree oil shampoos and conditioners are a healthy natural alternative to harsh chemicals.
A study examining the use of 5% tea tree oil shampoo found that after 4 weeks tea tree oil shampoo significantly reduced symptoms of dandruff. Tea Tree oil shampoos act by normalizing the condition of your scalp, eliminating excessive dead cells and dandruff.
Because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungicidal properties tea tree oil shampoos will also purify and fortify hair follicles. For your shampoo to be efficient it will need to contain at least 5% tea tree oil and you should use it frequently.
Use with a tea tree oil conditioner to re-condition dry, brittle hair, and soothe a flaky, irritated scalp.
2) Tea Tree Oil Toothpaste.

3) Tea Tree oil Mouthwash.

7) Tea tree oil foot treatments.
