I don't believe in love at first sight - I agree with lust at first sight or karma at first sight, or attraction at first sight - love is a state of being that one lives in and love is about actions. It has nothing to do with the fleeting emotions of infatuation.

I think most people think that only lust is possible but not love. For me both go hand in hand kartika. Both love and infatuation are great feelings and they can hit you as sudden and hard as they can dissapear. I could not love (romantic love) someone who I don't feel lust for.
Hi Anath, The reason love/lust disappears is because it is an illusion - lust is chemical (I agree it has its place!), and the reason love lasts is its real! Love is actually who we are, and has nothing to do with anything outside of ourselves. All the world's masters and saints know this to be true!

It is dangerous Gina, but I have loved every minute of it every time it happened. One never knows when is going to happen again or how long it is going to last and that is part of the appeal. You are right, it is like jumping of a cliff in search of adrenalin!

yes, i believe in love at first sight! it happened to me. i was minding my own business and turned around and saw this gentleman standing there and i could not move. something took over my mind. a flash of light radiated from his smile. i wish i could explain what happenend, no one seems to believe me. i didnt notice the guy, and then "bam" i was hypnotized. i was having a conversation w/a voice in my mind telling me to go up to him. but i was ashamed because i was staring at this light coming from his smile! then the voice told me to smile and i then, he continue to smile back

i fell head over heals in love yesterday, she came into my work and i was doing something and she walked up to me and as soon as my eyes met hers i felt as if i were going to faint, she had the bluest eyes, tan skin and the darkest hair, she was the most beautiful person i had ever seen, my heart wouldt quit racing and i could bareley speak to her, i felt foolish, but then she came back in today and i was helping someone else when i noticed her out of the corner of my eye and once again i thought i was going to faint, but this time she was looking at me and i felt her eyes peircing my skin like she had some sort of magical power over me, it was kinda scary, this was the first time iv ever felt anything like this. i dont know what to do, what if she comes back in, i swear this girl is going to be the death of me.

I've never experienced such. I've found that a woman's demeanor could trigger "love at first meeting" ..but then again, what is "love"? I think I experinced this the first time I read your hubs! Then when you answered my comments I knew it was real! Ever since then I constantly read your hubs over and over just hoping that it will bring me closer to you.
Honestly, you have a knack for taking a general topic and turning it into something that is both interesting and informative. Normally, I wouldn't have looked twice at this title.
