Natural lip care

Luscious lips
Full, moist and luscious lips enhance the sensuality of a woman. Unfortunately, lips have no oil glands, so, it is essential to take proper care of them and protect them from the elements, such us the sun, wind and cold weather.
One way to keep your lips looking healthy, plump and juicy -like mine- is to use a daily lip balm. You can either buy a ready to use lip balm or you can experiment creating your own with every day ingredients that you can find in your kitchen. A Natural lip balm should be a protecting, moisturizing, healing and soothing treat for your lips.
"one kiss of her lips; was worth
more than an eternity without it."
Honey Lip Balm
One of my favourite lip balms is the honey lip balm. It is easy to make and it is extremely versatile. To make it you only need 4 spoons of almond oil, 1 spoon of grated beeswax and 1 spoon of honey. To prepare, you warm the almond oil and beeswax in a small pan over a very low heat until the wax melts. Remove from heat, add the honey and stir thoroughly. Pour into a small container, allow to cool, stirring occasionally to avoid the mixture from separating. Store in a cool place. Apply a small amount to your lips as often as desired.
Peppermint lip balm.
For a refreshing lip balm and minty kisses, follow the recipe above for the honey lip balm, stirring 10 drops of peppermint essential oil after mixing in the honey.
Rose lip balm for sensitive lips.
For a fragrant, delicate balm for sensitive lips, follow the recipe for honey lip balm, stirring in 10 drops of rose essential oil after mixing in the honey.
Healing balm for chapped lips.
For a healing balm, vitamin E together with tea tree oil and lavender essential oil will help to soothe and heal dry, chapped lips. You will need to follow the basic recipe for honey lip balm and add the contents of a 400IU vitamin E capsule with the honey and stir thoroughly. Then add 10 drops of tea tree oil and 5 drops of lavender oil, stir again, store in a cool place.
Exfoliate:
To keep your lips in top form is it advisable that as well as using a lip balm you exfoliate your lips with an appropriate product. Ready made lip scrubs are very easy and safe to use. Just wet you lips with warm water and take a pinch of lip scrub and polish your lips, using small circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Finish covering your lips with a lip balm.
Exfoliate: to smooth dry chapped lips before applying your lip balm

Ups! You are right, I just remember how much I dislike kissing a man with dry lips. Nothing better to enhance the kissing experience than soft, moist lips.
The lip balms here can be used for men, women, and children. But I think that men would rather go to a chemist and buy a lip balm rather than make their own. Thanks for the reminder BrianS
good hub! ths!
girl, I have really small lips, like I don't have and *plumpness* and just started using a plumper gloss but it only lasts 10 minutes but does help a little. I may get botox my sister did and she looks awesome, I'm first going to try your lip care advice but what would you suggest I do if u were me
thanks hon

If I were you Kimberly, I would avoid going for any artificial fillers and would stick to cosmetics and natural treatments. I have seen to many bad cases of lip enhancement and I don't think I would risk my "kissers" to any surgeon. Having your sister's recomendation and good results are a very good point. If you go for it make sure that you get an accredited surgeon and not just a beautician.

Very interesting. I live in Florida so my lips dry out pretty easily and pretty often. I'm a constant chapped stick wearer, I'll put it on several times a day! Some of your homemade lip balms seem fun to try, too.
They are delicious to try Alissa, my favourite one is the rose one.

Yes I can see how lips are very important for a woman, men like their lips to feel good as well though.
