Updated on September 25, 2015

Free Plastic Surgery

Plastic Surgery... for free?

Yes, you can have plastic surgery for free. Whether you are looking simply for free breast implants or a nose job or more complicated cases where you need reconstructive plastic surgery, you can find a wide range of solutions for having your surgery for free. The solutions go from finding financial contributors and taking part on medical trials, to passing by TV shows offering total makeovers or even joining the military to finance your surgery. Other times, for those who need reconstructive surgery after an accident, there are doctors offering their services free of charge to help those in need.

There are several ways to get plastic surgery for free.

While some methods are overly commercial and maybe even bizarre, there are others which are worth all your respect for the team of sponsors and volunteers who make free plastic surgery possible to restore the looks of women who had been abused or children who because of different reasons are disfigured.

The medical speciality of plastic surgery includes both: cosmetic surgery –done mainly to enhance beauty- and reconstructive surgery which is done to restore someone’s appearance back to normality. There are many ways to have plastic surgery for free, depending on your particular case and needs you might want to explore some of the options below.

Free Plastic Surgery With The Military

Did you know that personnel in all four branches of the military and members of their immediate families can get face-lifts, nose jobs, breast enlargements, liposuction, or any other kind of elective cosmetic alteration, at taxpayer expense?

While the military doesn't offer extreme makeovers, there is no limit to the amount of cosmetic surgeries that a soldier can have done. The commanding officer has to approve the time off for any soldier who is having surgery.

Would free cosmetic surgery be and incentive for YOU to join the military?

Free plastic surgery with The National Health Service (NHS) in the UK

Hundreds of people have had cosmetic surgery for free thanks to the UK’s NHS. Figures from the NHS Information Centre show that in 2008, the NHS spent £5.7 million on giving 471 patients liposuction and giving over 1,600 patients nose jobs, tummy tucks and breast reductions.

Doctors have explained the situation saying there was a medical reason (from body dysmorphic disorder to HIV medication causing fat deposits to build up on the neck) for the cosmetic surgery in all of the cases. The British surgeons have explained that the rules for having cosmetic surgery under the NHS are stringent and patients would not get surgery for purely cosmetic reasons.

Free Implants Thanks To Financial Contributors

My Free implants.com

This is a social networking site started in 2005 that claims to help women get their breast implants safely and debt free. The community is composed of women who want to have a breast augmentation, contributors who can economically contribute and support you in order to achieve your augmentation dream, and finally, plastic surgeons.

Get Cosmetic

Get cosmetic.com is based on a similar concept to that of My Free Implants. com. It is for those who want cosmetic surgery but simply can’t afford it. the site works by letting you create an "ad" on their website to invite donations from friends, family or strangers. If you are willing to become public and try this method, a four month listing on the site will set you back less than $9.

The site has many adverts for cosmetic surgery as well as reconstructive surgery for those who can not afford it any other way.

Would you accept someone unknown to you sponsoring your cosmetic surgery?

TV Shows

If you live near a big city and you are not shy to go public, why not try out for one of the makeover shows that are popular on television. Usually, they will follow your progress as you go through the surgery process.

Plastic Surgery - Clinical Trials

Another way of getting free plastic surgery is participating in clinical trials relevant to Plastic surgery.

You can check the International Clinical Trials Registry Platform. Here at least you can be sure that Plastic surgery is performed by plastic surgeons who have received extensive training and belong to professional associations such as the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). The main limitation is that you cannot choose from a wide range of cosmetic surgeries. The site is aimed to find people available for Plastic surgery rather than cosmetic interventions.

WARNING: Please keep in mind that clinical trials have risks. They can include unpleasant, serious or even life-threatening side effects that may be different from the side effects of currently available treatments.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials in cosmetic surgery are usually treatment-oriented. For example, many surgeons are now looking at cohesive gel breast implants, which have the positive attributes of the silicone gel implant, but do not pose the risk of gel migration.

The Cost Of Plastic Surgery

Before engaging in any plastic surgery agreement, bear in mind the full economical cost of plastic or cosmetic surgery.

In performing cosmetic and plastic surgery there are three basic fees that must be considered:

1) the surgical fee -your doctor's fee.

2) anesthesia fee. This depends on the nature of the anesthesia administered (local, regional or general), the time of surgery and other technical issues.

3) facility fee and materials costs.

Make sure that you know the full cost of the procedure before you decide.

Remember to check with your doctor for more information on any cosmetic or plastic surgery procedures.
